We’re proud to announce that CWBH Member Tanya Minto has been hired by Mt. Sinai Support Services.
“Years ago, I worked for the hospital,” says Tanya. “I was much younger, and the position was ready for me, but I was not ready for the position. When you’re younger, you don’t appreciate what you have.”
Tanya is a graduate of the first-ever women’s cohort in building automation training with our partners, Stacks & Joules and Henry Street Settlement. Through this program, she connected with Jobs Plus and Krystal Mejias, a Lower Eastside Girls Club alumna, to help in her professional development and to connect her to job opportunities. During the search, Krystal became a close partner to Tanya.
“Over the years, my mom wanted me to have a good job and to know that I could take care of my kids, and I was actually reading my mother’s obituary when Krystal said to check my email,” says Tanya. “When I did, they had an interview [with Mt. Sinai] set up for me. It was fate!”
You can find more information about Jobs Plus and other job readiness programs on the Lower East Side in our Lower East Side Community Care Guide.
